Academies of Nashville Pathways

At Stratford STEM Magnet High School, students belong to both a magnet and an academy school. In our academies, we focus on science, technology, engineering and math in all of our classes, as well as provide interdisciplinary, project-based learning experiences that connect students to the real world.

All students have the opportunity to participate in several advanced academic programs, earning college credit or internationally recognized certificates. Stratford students also choose a career-focused Academy for grades 10-12 to gain practical, real-world experience aligned to career pathways.

Students begin during their 9th grade year in the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Academy, which provides a small, supportive environment as students learn what it means to be in high school. From there, they choose a pathway in one of two career academies: the Academy of National Safety & Security Technology and the Academy of Science and Engineering
