BioStem and Engineering
Students in the Academy of Science and Engineering learn biotechnology, engineering, and interdisciplinary science and research. Students can participate in the FIRST robotics competition and are mentored through the process by Nissan, Universal Robotics and Wright Industries.
In the interdisciplinary science and research pathway, students learn how to become independent scientific researchers, looking into issues such as water quality, cancer and sociology. Students have the opportunity to present and publish their work, as well as work in real-world science labs over the summer.
This pathway is co-taught by Vanderbilt Center for Science Outreach scientists. Students can earn college credit through numerous institutions, as well as take a national certification exam for AutoCad Invent.
